The new material and production tracker module gives users clear visibility about
the inputs, outputs and genealogy for each stage of the production process from
raw materials through to finished product. Whatever your process, at the click of
a button, you will be able to see the full story about how your product was made
and processed. Benefits of the tracker module include:
- Reduced error making
- Swifter resolution of complaints
- Highlighting performance exceptions – high material usage, excessive waste, poor
runnability
- Tighter control of suppliers and materials
To ensure robust and efficient data collection, ProcessLink, the QIS interface module,
can be used to collect data from a range of electronic sources to free up valuable
operator time whilst ensuring data integrity. Material usage is clearly displayed
to operators to show consumption throughout and across the whole production process.
In the Technical Analysis module, data can be analysed to in order to indentify
abnormal usage and performance exceptions, set standard operating targets and monitor
efficiencies throughout the whole production process.
An additional feature is the integration of the MQM (Materials Quality Management)
module. This enables simplified administration of materials and suppliers and allows
users access to the full range of QIS data analysis tools.

The Document Management section has been expanded to make it even easier to create,
publish and find all the information you need to run and control your process to
maximise yields whilst delighting customers with a consistent quality product. In
Q6 you will find:
- Sophisticated search tools for finding documents by type, variable name & value
and SPS Tags.
- Specification comparison tools to compare and highlight the differences between
product specifications or versions.
- A new HTML document base type to enable users to access documents held external
to QIS such as safe systems of work held on the company intranet.
- A link with Data Library enables users to interrogate past performance and from
the results generate a “proposed specification” change automatically via the new
specification builder feature.
- In order to further improve approval of document changes a notification can now
be sent via email to the approver without having to first access QIS.

In designing QISv6 the needs of the user have been put first. The look and feel
ensures users quickly can access the information they need to support them in their
roles.
Improved security through the introduction of “strong” passwords and the option
of using the Windows password minimises the risk of unauthorised access.
Setup of users has been made even easier with the options to “inherit” settings
from other users and to configure user-defined menus. Personal settings give the
users the opportunity to create their own layout to reflect a specific need or to
suit a pattern of work.
From reels to pallets and from vats to cheeses, QISv6 eliminates any confusion by
using the terms that you use in your production facility.
Variable setup and templates have also been improved to make setup simpler and clearer.
At the click of a button the user can see exactly the position and location of a
variable within a template. Multi-level templates make your ordering and access
to data child’s play.

The Data analysis and the ability to rapidly transform data into information and
knowledge is the bedrock of QIS and ensure QIS stands out against all competitor
products.
In Q6 new easy-to-use preset and multiple chart options have been added to ensure
operators have all the information they need at their fingertips to make informed
decisions about running a process and maximising performance.
New data filtering options enable users to quickly refine and identify a representative
dataset that can be used for process investigations and to improve performance understanding.
Following analysis of data, a user now has the option to use QIS “Calculate Limits”
tool to propose new specification limits and apply them automatically to Document
Library through the new specification builder.

As well as adding many new features for the front-end user we have also invested
heavily to provide a robust and secure system that requires the minimum of maintenance.
QISv6 is designed to run 24x7 often across challenging multi-site international
networks. Utilising a MS SQL database, QIS processes large volumes of data very
efficiently to deliver the right information at the right time.
New in QISv6 is the Auto update module that checks for any new QISv6 updates and
automatically deploys them to your system. This frees up valuable time for the IT
administrator and ensures the user is always kept up to date with any new features.
The new ProcessLink Interface console manager simplifies the management of interfaces
to external systems. Any problems are quickly pinpointed and resolved through the
comprehensive log files and fault identification system.
With vast experience of interfacing to a variety of process and business systems,
QIS pulls together all the data you need in order to report, act and improve your
process operations.
